On July 21, Regio took place in Stuttgart, a conference jointly planned and held by the three Baden-Württemberg state associations of community psychiatry, people with psychiatric experience and relatives of mentally ill people, which this year was dedicated to the topic of suicide prevention: Talking about it can save lives!
The focus was on the expert lecture by Dr. Jörg Breitmaier, but also on the view of the topic from the three perspectives of an affected person, a family member and a professional consultant. In eight workshops in the afternoon, the participants were able to deal with very different aspects of the topic.
The event concluded, as always, with a statement from the three associations, this time with a strong appeal to those responsible in politics and society to make suicide prevention a priority health policy task.
