The most important facts in brief:
- The electronic patient file, ePA for short, is the digital health folder for people with statutory health insurance.
- It stores health data such as doctor’s letters, findings, medication plans, laboratory results and X-ray images. However, you can also store documents in it yourself.
- The ePA has been developed for use on digital devices. This means that you will always have your health information with you on your smartphone or on your PC or laptop.
- Use of the electronic patient file is voluntary. Only you decide who you give access to your electronic patient file. You can also object to the setting up of the EPR.
- Whether you use the ePA or not must not have a negative impact on your healthcare.
